Ecuadorian banana supplies to Qatar on the rise

Ecuadorian bananas expand in Qatar and are already present in major supermarket chains such as Monoprix, Lulu Hypermarket, Al Meera, and Carrefour.

 

According to the Association of Banana Exporters of Ecuador (AEBE), soon the Ecuadorian fruit will also enter Woqod, a Qatari fuel company that has more than 112 stores in the country.

 

According to data from the Banana Statistical Observatory (OEB), in 2022, Turkey purchased more Ecuadorian bananas than any other country in the Middle East (33.38% of the total), followed by Saudi Arabia (23.34%) and Iraq (18 .52%). Qatar was placed in seventh position (1.10%).

 

In all of 2022, Ecuador exported bananas for $3,145 million, according to data from the Central Bank.
