Good quality and volume for the Rocha pears in Portugal

In visit in Portugal, fructidor.com has met Mr .Burnay, General Manager of Campotec, part of Unirocha group.
Mr Burnay declares that the production of the Rocha pear has increased by 20% this year, with a total of 20.000 tons.
The size of the pear is "more than correct", a lot of big fruits and the quality is top with a sugar rate : bricx, over 12%.
The great quality of this pear are its taste and its preservation. The pear can be kept up to 2 months in refrigerated atmosphere !
This enable the company to export the pears by sea transport to far markets as South Americas where Campoted is the leader.
