The nightmare continues for the kiwi sector in New Zealand with 62 new cases identified.
The Psa-V virus continues to spread in the kiwi orchards.
In its latest report, the agency Kiwifruit Vine Health Biosecurity (KVH) announced 62 new cases, bringing the total number of orchards with Psa-V identified to1813. 63% of kiwifruit orchards
in New Zealand are now affected by the virus.
The Kiwi sector will be affected for a long time. A Lincoln University study estimates that the virus will cost between 310 and NZ $410 million for the next 5 years and double in the long term.
