Apricot production affected by hail in the Rhône-Alpes region

In France, severe storms of hail hit the Rhone-Alpes region last weekend. It is estimated that a quarter of the regional apricot production is destroyed as well as part of the production of peaches and nectarines.
 
 
 
Severe hail storms hit the Rhône-Alpes region on June 15th. On a corridor of 15 to 25 km wide, these hail storms devastated the orchards.
 
 
 
 
The industry association, AOP Pêches et Apricots de France, estimates the losses at 13,000 tonnes of apricots and 3,000 tonnes of peaches and nectarines.
