Prices for bananas took another knock in Russia

In accordance to the latest data, current prices for bananas are 2 times higher comparing to the previous season figures. Such prices surge was triggered by bananas costs ascension in Ecuador – main country-supplier of bananas to Russian fruits market. Starting from January 2014 Ecuador managed to increase bananas export volumes by 25%. Due to agricultural specialists, amount of bananas imported from Ecuador to domestic market of Russia will reach record figures this year. At the current moment wholesale prices for bananas verify from 1,10 USDkg  to 1,20 USDkg within fruit market of Russia. These number 2 times exceed last year figures. Moreover, prices for bananas continue to rally in Russia.
