7 hypermarkets around the Spanish capital increases Leclerc's presence in Spain to 18.
E. Leclerc has announced the acquisition of 7 hypermarkets from Basque group Eroski in the outskirts of Madrid, bringing its number of outlets to 18 in Spain.
The acquisition price was not specified. These 7 new hypermarkets represent 40,000m2 of retail space.
E. Leclerc has 115 stores internationally achieving a turnover of 2.6 billion euros in 2010. The group is also present in Italy (33 stores), Poland (40 stores), Portugal (22 stores), Slovenia (2 stores) and Andorra (2 stores).
