The EU unblocks aid of 190 million euros for the banana sector in ACP countries (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific).
The European Union has made ??190 million euros available to ACP banana producers.
This assistance comes in the framework of the implementation of accompanying measures in the banana sector in ACP countries (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific) and in accordance with an agreement signed in 2009. A meeting of Ministers from ACP countries with the EU representatives was held in Port Vila
, Vanuatu in the Pacific region.
The ACP Council of Ministers, with effect August 1, 2012, will be headed for a period of six months by Cameroon's Minister of the Economy, Emmanuel Nganou Ndjoumessi. He will preside over the 7th Conference of Heads of State and Government of the ACP, expected in late 2012 in Equatorial Guinea.
