Chilean fruit exports exceed expectations for the 2024/25 season

Avocado remains the most exported fruit.
In the first two months of the 2024/25 season, Chile exported fruits valued at $879 million FOB, representing a 4.4% increase compared to the previous season, according to local media.
Of the total exports, 48.2% corresponded to fresh fruits, 18.1% to nuts, 10.6% to dried fruits, and the remainder to products such as frozen fruits, canned goods, juices, and oils.
Fresh fruit exports reached $424 million FOB, an increase of 6.2% in value and 21.9% in volume compared to the same period last season.
Avocados were the most exported fruit, generating $128.4 million FOB from 45,500 tons, with a 13.5% growth in value and a 21% increase in volume. The main destination was Europe, with the Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom accounting for 55.2% of the export value. However, the average price per ton fell by 6.2% compared to 2023.
Mandarins, the second most exported fruit by value, reached $96.5 million FOB but experienced declines of 37.4% in value and 20% in volume. The United States was the primary market, receiving 91.3% of the total exports.
Apples ranked third, with $90.2 million FOB, showing an 89.6% increase in value and a 96.6% rise in export volume.
