Chilean Table Grape Committee publishes new estimate for the 2024-2025 season

Exports of the new varieties are expected to increase by 10% compared to the previous season.
The Chilean Table Grape Committee has published its second estimate for the 2024-2025 season, maintaining the export projection at 66 million boxes. It highlights an increase in the share of new grape varieties, which will account for 67% of total exports, 2% more than initially estimated. Although the revised figure is 0.1% lower than the first projection made in October, it implies a growth of 2.2% over the previous season, with a total of more than 65.9 million boxes.
Exports of the new varieties are expected to exceed 43.9 million boxes, a 10% increase over the previous season. In contrast, traditional varieties will decline by 10%, totaling more than 21.9 million boxes.
Exports will be dominated by new white and red varieties, with 21.1 and 18.6 million cases respectively. For the first time, white grapes will exceed red grapes in volume. New black varieties will reach 4.1 million cases. Top varieties include Candy Hearts, Jack Salute and Allison in reds; Sweet Globe, Autumn Crisp and Arra 15 in whites; and Sable Seedless, Sweet Favors and Sweet Sapphire in blacks.
At the regional level, shipments from Atacama, Coquimbo, Metropolitan and Maule are expected to increase, with a notable 72% growth in the latter. In contrast, exports from Valparaíso and O'Higgins will decrease. Regarding destination markets, a slight increase in shipments to North America and Latin America is projected, while exports to Asia and Europe will decrease.
