Export of fruit and vegetables in the first 3 months of 2009 under the level of previous year

According to information released by Productschap Tuinbouw, the Netherlands exported in the first three months of 2009 – 258.000 tons of fresh produce, 25% less than in the same period of time in previous year.
About 17% less produce was delivered to Germany. There were mainly glasshouse produces, leeks, carrots and stone fruits.
25% less fruit and vegetables were exported to great Britain.
