2024 is set to be a historic year for papaya exports in Brazil.
In November 2024, Brazilian papaya exports remained stable with respect to the previous month, with a volume of approximately 4,000 tons shipped abroad, according to a local media. Revenues generated by these shipments also remained unchanged, reaching just over $5 million.
Despite the monthly stability, the annual outlook shows an outstanding growth. Between January and November 2024, Brazil exported a total of 39,000 tons of papaya, representing an increase of 16% compared to the same period in 2023. Accumulated revenues in this period exceeded 52 million dollars, 9% more than the previous year, setting a new record, according to the same source.
This performance underscores a positive scenario for Brazilian papaya producers. The outlook for December anticipates continued good results, which could close the year with record figures in terms of revenues. This progress reinforces Brazil's position as a key player in the global fruit market, highlighting its ability to maintain a steady supply of quality products, even in the face of market fluctuations.
