Walnut crop may not be as good as expected

The previously announced record walnut crop in California may now not materialise. Growers have reported that as they are harvesting they are discovering more weather-related damage than anticipated. Rains in the spring led to some crop disease while hot conditions in July have caused sunburn on the nuts.
