Billa acquires Minaco

Rewe-owned supermarket chain Billa Hrvatska of Croatia has acquired local rival Minaco for an undisclosed amount. With the acquisition, Billa becomes the second-biggest retailer in Croatia behind Konzum, with expected 2005 revenues of over EUR300 million.
