Record production expected

The Queensland region will produce a record volume of papayas this season.

Papayas are beginning to hit the market this year. An annual production of more than 1.5 million trays is expected this season.

Multiple factors have combined this year to a record output. The professionals explain that the ideal weather conditions (rain, temperature) of winter have resulted in minimal losses and maximum production per tree. With the increase in number of trees, the industry reached a record level of production.
