Very constructive first edition for "Cool Logistics Asia "

Attracting over 120 participants from 20 countries, the first edition of "COOL LOGISTICS ASIA" was an opportunity to exchange views and perspectives.
Despite the context of a certain weakness of the Chinese market, a general consensus emerged: the perishables cargo volumes will remain stable globally. The container will remain, according to forecasts 55% of bananas and 75% of seafood will be shipped in containers by 2018 while conventional shipments will continue to decline in importance.
The larger ships, according to ship-owners, will increase pressure on container terminals worldwide. Chinese ports by insufficient Reefer taken, will struggle to meet higher volumes in refrigerated cases.
Intra-Asian trade will continue to increase, growth of 10% is expected for fresh products from Vietnam, the Philippines and Thailand. China is expected to remain by far the largest exporter and the biggest importer of perishable goods in Asia.
