The Pakistani producer and export company Sadruddin & Co. was present for the first time at this year's FRUIT LOGISTICA. Sadruddin is the country's largest grower of the world-renowned Kinnow tangerines. "The quality is the same as the fruit grown in the Mediterranean, but is produced at lower cost. Some of our tangerines are purchased from other growers", says Director Saleem Sadruddin. Most of the 12,000 tonnes of citrus fruit are exported to markets in Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands and Indonesia. 4,000 tonnes of mangos are sold to buyers in Iran, the Middle East, Germany and Great Britain. "Russia is our key market. Our next step is to develop sales in Western Europe and increase our exports to Eastern Europe", Sadruddin says. The company is currently undergoing GlobalGAP and BRC certification and is already HACCP-approved.
