Haryana gears up to improve markets

To keep pace with the changing concepts of the present market the Haryana Government would be upgrading the existing fruit and vegetables market with better facilities for the farmers of the state in the coming months.
While stating this Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board, Chief Administrator, Ram Niwas said that Rohtak Mandi would be upgraded as modern farmer's market and an amount of 210 thousand of EUR would be spent on this work. He said that the farmers would be allotted shops in this complex where they could directly sell their vegetables and fruit.
He said that to check the theft of market fee a computerized load machine would be installed at the main entrance of the market. This would bring transparency in the working of market committee and without any discrimination the goods would be evaluated which was coming to the market, he added.
The Chief Administrator said that farmers would be updated with scientific techniques by the agricultural experts. He said that an Agriculture Information Center was being set up in the markets of the state and the construction of such centre at Rohtak would be completed shortly. He said that these centers would provide information by the experts for better marketing facilities.
