Woolworths sales rise

Woolworths, the second biggest retailer in Australia, has recorded a 10,3% sales growth to US$2,95 billion in the first quarter of 2001. In a statement, chief executive Robert Corbett said "the company's full-year earnings per share could grow by 15 to 22% if economic climates continues".
