In Madagascar, the 2021 lychee campaign officially started on November 17 with the start of the first harvests. The ship "Baltic Klipper" with nearly 7,000 tonnes of lychees has left the port of Tamatave and its arrival in Marseille (France) is scheduled for 04 or 05 December.

"It's a truly extraordinary campaign where we see all the components of the value chain, from producers to logisticians, including transporters, who are on the war footing to succeed in the timed mission of shipping the lychees. to all distribution networks in the European market in record time. "
Certified GlobalG.A.P and Grasp (GlobalG.A.P Risk Assessment on Social Practice), the production of Malagasy lychee meets international standards in terms of agricultural practices that are respectful from a social and environmental point of view. In recent years, part of the production has also been Fairtrade labeled, which allows the financing of actions in favor of local producers.
A few months ago, SIIM won the marketing contract for the lychee export campaign following an international call for applications launched by the GEL (Groupement des Exportateurs de Litchis de Madagascar). The distribution of Madagascan lychee in Europe is a seasonal campaign, involving the marketing of more than 16,000 tonnes of fruit, which usually runs from the beginning of December until the end of January, and which will be distributed for half by the Group.
