The European Union will strengthen trade and cooperation with agriculture and rural development in Iran.
Food trade between Iran and the European Union has increased sharply over the past two years and will continue to grow. A delegation led by Mr Hogan, the European Commissioner for Agriculture, recently visited Tehran.
"Iran-EU cooperation will be prosperous," Hogan told a joint press conference with Iran's Minister of Agriculture, Mahmoud Hojjati, adding that the EU is determined to pursue economic relations with Iran.
The European delegation counted a few dozen companies and participants in the Forum discussed the possibilities of mutual exports (fruits, vegetables, seeds) as well as European assistance to the agricultural sector in Iran in research and the use of innovative methods.
According to the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture, the country wants to attract European investment in several areas, such as seed and seed production, organic production, agricultural machinery, irrigation, greenhouses and refrigerated storage.
