Angus Soft Fruits has handed Harvey Sansome the task of maximising the potential of the group's business opportunities.
UK-based Angus Soft Fruits is taking steps to strengthen international relations by undertaking a series of initiatives, beginning with the appointment of Harvey Sansome to the position of senior technical manager.
Mr Sansome, formerly of UK retailer Tesco, will assist commercial manager John Gray and technical director Dave Griffiths.
Mr Gray said: "Harvey brings with him a tremendous international insight into virtually every technical aspect of the fruit business, from growing to retailing. Our business is advancing through a combination of technical excellence and strong customer relations and Harvey will help us maximise our potential in these areas."
The group, who grows raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries, has performed well this season despite the poor weather and a fall in consumer demand.
Additionally, AVA, the first UK branded strawberry now being grown by The Greenery in the Netherlands, leads the premium strawberry sector and is selling well under the "Aromio" brand name in Russia.
"As this summer season closes we are already thinking of next year and want to broaden our growing base to accommodate the demand for our premium soft fruits," Mr Gray adds.
