The GPI of European Union has been awarded to the Brindisi artichoke.
The European Union has awarded the PGI to the Artichoke Brindisi.
Producers and developers of the PGI receive their label after five years of effort. The European label ensures the specificity, origin and traceability of the Brindisi artichoke. The PGI covers common production of Brindisi, Cellino San Marco, Carovigno, Mesagne, Sandonaci, San Pietro Vernotico, San Vito dei Normanni, Torchiarolo.
A producer organization and a consortium will be formed for the protection and the enhancement of production.
