"Our eleven exhibitors generated USD 40 million in revenue last year. We are confident that the trade fair can help them double this amount", says Gloria Abraham Peralta, Costa Rican Minister of Agriculture, during her visit to FRUIT LOGISTICA.
The diversification of the products offered – especially in the organic sector – the acquisition of new trade partners and the opening of new markets for small farmers are key points on her agenda.
This year, the Central American country introduced its new Procosí "perfect papaya". Remarkably sweet and juicy, this medium-size fruit is characterized by a long shelf life. Along with markets in the U.S. and Europe, Costa Rica wants to start exporting tropical fruit to China.
