Based on the heritage of the American organizations United Fresh and PMA (Produce Marketing Association), the new structure IFPA (International Fresh Produce Association) replaces them from January 1, 2022 and is the largest and most diverse international association in the world, serving the entire supply chain of fresh produce.
The United Fresh and PMA (Produce Marketing Association) organizations have chosen not to merge, but rather to create an entirely new organization to replace their organizations as of January 1, 2022: IFPA (International Fresh Produce Association).
The leaders of the 2 associations had determined the strategic commitments that will be the priorities of the new association, such as:
.Serve all sectors of the global fresh produce and flower supply chains, increasing membership and participation globally
.provide expertise and business solutions in food safety, new technologies, supply chain management, sustainability, business operations, marketing
. engage with global bodies and allied organizations to promote free and fair trade, international harmonization of standards and global consumption growth,
.Support demand to make consumers view agricultural and floral products as essential parts of their lives, while increasing the profitability of product sales.
These priorities were also decisive for the selection and organization of the new board of directors, chaired by Bruce Taylor, CEO of Taylor Farms. See the full list of board members by clicking HERE
"We are excited to build this organization, to build the association of tomorrow, to meet the challenges of tomorrow," said Cathy Burns, CEO of PMA and co-CEO of IFPA with Tom Stenzel.
