A huge cooperative announced in Brittany

The new cooperative, arisen from the fusion of Coopagri Bretagne with Cam56 and Eolys, will be a real heavyweight of the sector.
Cam 56 (Cooperative of the Morbihan Farmers), Coopagri Bretagne and the Eolys union decided to create a new cooperative by merging their activities.
This will group together, under a unique identity and management unique, the activities and the skills of 3 companies which are: the professions of the agriculture, of food-processing industry and the distribution.
The fusion will be subjected to the opinion of works councils, in the approval of the general assemblies of 3 cooperatives in June, 2010, and in the agreement of the concerned authorities.
The name and the logo of the new cooperative will be revealed in June, 2010.
Key figures of this new cooperative:
- 20 000 members
- 6 000 employees
- 2,8 billion euro of turnover
- 300 sites in Brittany
- Presence on 4 departments of Brittany (22, 29, 35, 56).
