Nosh Food sees strong growth; new agreement with Waitrose
MD
New Zealand chain Nosh Food Market plans to triple its number of stores over the next 5 years through new franchises.
Nosh uses a market-style concept, combining butchery, bakery, delicatessen and greengrocer under one roof. It currently has 6 stores in New Zealand (4 in Auckland, one in Matakana north of Auckland and one in Hamilton) and plans to open 20 more in the next 5 years. The long term goal is to reach 100 stores in 20 years.
Nosh Food Market also announced a partnership with Waitrose which will provide around 100 Waitrose-branded products by Christmas.
Nosh Food Market has less than 1% market share in New Zealand, far behind the two leaders, Foodstuffs and Woolworths. Its expansion program could increase its share to 5%.
