De Jong Packaging expands its location
De Jong Packaging, Dutch specialist in corrugated trays and boxes, expanding its location in De Lier by building a new multilayer distribution center with storage and production facilities. Corrugated board producer is expanding its existing production capacity with the investment from WDP, a real estate company that has extensive experience in developing and managing of storage and production locations.
Demolition and new construction work is already underway on the Westerly industrial estate. The old storage hall will be replaced with a double floor, which means the storage space will be retained, and a lot of extra space will be gained. The new building will be built with an eye for the environment. It will be carried out using many environmentally friendly materials, and upon completion, new building will be one of the sustainable buildings in the area. The new construction is expected to be completed in 2022.
Henk de Jong, owner of De Jong Packaging, shared he is proud that after a long preparation period they are allowed to start working on the new factory. "When I now walk across the construction site and look around me, I can already see the new machines. I can also imagine how the packaging will soon be loaded into the trucks here."
De Jong also added that many markets use corrugated packaging. Consumers increasingly prefer cardboard packaging to plastic, as it is a recyclable paper product and therefore has a sustainable image.
