Huelva (Spain) remains one of the most important berry producing regions in the European Union, and its trade and export of strawberries, blackberries, rasperries, blueberries, is especially important.
Last week, the Huelva Strawberry Producers and Exporters Association (Freshuelva) welcomed its new president, Francisco José Gómez, who is replacing Alberto Garrocho.
Mr. Gómez, also the current president of the Cuna de Platero cooperative, has 30 years of experience in the fruit sector. He commented that he is very excited and wants to work for the growth and unity of the berry sector in the province.
The election of the new president took place after the General Assembly of Associates appointed the members of the Board of Directors of Freshuelva.
The First Vice Presidency will be held by Alberto Garrocho de Pitayas de Andalucía; the Second Vice Presidency by José Antonio Martín from AgroMartín; the treasurer will be Juan Manuel Vivas de Fruta de Andalucía. The representatives of other component companies of the Board will be vocal.
