An anti-fraud system for "Asparagus of Navarra"

To preserve and guarantee consumers the authenticity of the "Asparagus of Navarra" with a new anti-fraud system.

The IGP Espárragos Board Regulatory, Navarra Asparagus of Navarra, has developed a new anti-fraud system based on number labels identifying the operators.

In addition to the seal of the Protected Geographical Indication, gained distinction and regulated by the European Union, a new numbering system certifies the origin. For each batch of asparagus from parcels recorded in the register of plantations and packaged in the region.

The PGI "Espárragos de Navarra" white asparagus "Asparagus officinalis", covers Navarra (176 municipalities), the Aragon region (49) and zones of La Rioja (38).
