India increases its refrigerated storage capacities at international airports.
India is endowed with new refrigeration systems at international airports of the country.
APEDA (Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) undertakes the development of refrigeration systems in the country's international airports. After the airports of Mumbai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kochi, APEDA now plans to install the Kempegowda airport in Bangalore.
The total cold storage facilities available at airports now amounts to 150,000 tons. While the estimated needs for perishable exports require only capacity of 75 000 tons.
