France: less export, more import

French sales of fruit and vegetables abroad decreased on march 2008 by 15% regarding march 2007, while potatoes sales decreased by 38% regarding last year.
Imports of some fruit like bananas, kiwifruits, citrus fruits and nuts have increased by 3% regarding 2007 (that is to say 930 million). The import of corn, most of all coming from Brazil and USA (seeds) and soya beans, is increasing too (by +101%). This is the data published by the “Agreste” bulletin of the Ministry of Agriculture in Paris.
