Moroccan producer Les Domaines Agricoles presented its new mandarin variety at Fruit Logistica 2024.
Sweet Cott comes after 10 years of research and testing, said Dr Mustapha Zemzami and Dr Mourad Kamiri. Sweet Cott is a late variety that will benefit from an excellent marketing window: from March to May, a period when very few countries can compete.
Sweet Cott also has other advantages, according to Mélanie Delanoe, Sales Manager, who highlighted its high sugar content (Brix 14/16), exceptional juiciness, low seed content and longer shelf life.
Given the number of professionals who attended the press conference, expectations for Sweet Cott are high.
