Season 2018: Increase in the area of strawberries (+ 9%) of raspberries (+ 14%) of blueberries (+ 12%) and blackberries (+ 15%)

More areas dedicated to berries in the province of Huelva.
The planting phase ended for the 2017/18 season, the total area dedicated to red fruits in the province of Huelva reached 11,145 hectares, or + 11.12% compared to the previous season.
FRESHUELVA, the Association of Producers and Exporters of Huelva, has detailed the data of its members. After declining for several seasons, the area of strawberries grew by 9% from 5,400 hectares last season to 5,890 hectares for the 2018 season.
For raspberries, areas reached 2,121 hectares, an increase of 14.45% over the 1,932 hectares planted last year. For blueberries, planted areas totaled 2,858 hectares, an increase of 12% but significantly lower than the 30% recorded during the previous camp. For blackberries, the areas increase to 180 hectares, ie + 15.50%.
