Asparagus exports increased by 22.1%

Increase of 22.1% for Peruvian exports of asparagus.

According to ComexPerú, the organization of foreign trade, exports of Peruvian asparagus, between January and October 2013 increased by 22.1% compared to the previous year, for a total of $ 321 million.

Asparagus production totaled 385,000 tons in 2012, exports 121,000 tons. The main customers of Peruvian asparagus are the United States (61%), the Netherlands (11%) and the UK (8%) and Spain (8%).
