Production forecasts for Florida citrus

Florida's latest official forecasts are up as orange production is expected to increase.
USDA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, has just published its latest forecast for citrus production in Florida for 2011-2012.
USDA estimates an orange production of 150 million boxes, up 2% from the forecast made ??in October and an increase of 7% over the production of last season.
Compared to previous forecasts, grapefruit production is reduced by 700,000 boxes and should reach 19.4 million
boxes. White grapefruit is expected to total 5.4 million boxes and coloured grapefruit 14 million boxes.
Compared to previous forecasts, mandarin production is reduced by 200 000 cases and 4.5 million boxes. The early varieties Fallglo and Sunburst are expected to total 2.4 million boxes and the Honey variety 2.1 million boxes.
