The production of "Hass" avocados in the Olmos Valley, Lambayeque region, as well as in other coastal valleys, will experience a significant reduction in both quantity and quality. A 40% decrease in production is expected.
The high temperatures in 2023 have caused stress in the plants, leading to early flowering and affecting the fruiting process.
As a result, the fruits will be smaller, with less dry matter and the appearance of black spots, according to data from the Pro Olmos Association.
