The Biomarket will open in the fall

In Mercabarna, the wholesale market in Barcelona, ​​the Biomarket will start its activity next fall. The Biomarket will become the first wholesale market in Spain specializing in the marketing of organic products, mainly fresh.

 

 

 

With the Biomarket, Mercabarna wants to meet the growing demand for organic products. This new infrastructure will improve the marketing of these foods and facilitate their distribution through the usual purchasing channels, retail and catering (HORECA).

 

 

 

During the health crisis, work was limited. Biomarket will occupy an area of ​​8,900 m2 and the building has been designed to minimize electricity consumption, using renewable energy sources and passive air conditioning elements. Photovoltaic panels, eco-efficient materials, ventilation and natural light to minimize energy consumption.

 

 

 

The Biomarket will have a total of 22 stands offering fresh organic products.
