Apple harvest in Val Venosta just started

The apple harvest in Val Venosta started a few days ago at lower altitudes with the early apple variety Gala.

The main varieties such as Golden, Stark, Pinova as well as Jonagold and Kanzi will be harvested towards the end of September. Late varieties including Fuji and Granny Smith, however, will be picked from the beginning of October.

The exact total quantities will stay below the quantities of last year.

Apples quality, however, will be incomparably high this year.  The low night temperatures of the last days had a very positive influence on the consistency and colour of our apples.
