Turkish citrus fruit exports up 16% in value terms

This performance points to a new record for 2024. Turkish citrus fruit exports in 2023 reached USD 1.1 billion, exceeding the one billion dollar mark for the 1st time.
Local media quoted Hayrettin Uçak, President of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, as saying that citrus fruit exports for the period January to April 2024 reached USD 475 million. This represents an increase of 16% compared to the period January to April 2023.
During the period January to April 2024, Russia was the No. 1 destination, with sales of USD 148 million. Next came Iraq with USD 90.2 million (up 399% on the same period in 2023), Ukraine with USD 45.5 million, Poland with USD 23.4 million and Romania with USD 22 million.
Mandarins, with USD 233.5 million, accounted for 49% of total citrus exports during the period January to April 2024.
