Harvest of 400 thousand tons of autumnal watermelon in Iran

Harvest of autumnal watermelon is over 400 thousand tons in Iran that has had an increase by 12 percent compared to that of the past year.

“Harvested volume of autumnal watermelon has been 372 thousand tons past farming year,” added Mohammad Mehdi Bahreini.

He stated that the under cultivation area of autumnal watermelon is about 15 thousand hectares.

“The under cultivation area of watermelon will be just more than that of the past year,” anticipated Bahreini, stating that in the farming year 1386 – 1387, about 3 million tons of watermelon were harvested.
