Spar plans job cuts at wholesale division

Retailer Spar has announced that it plans to cut 1,000 jobs at its wholesale unit. The cuts come as part of a restructuring plan which the company has said is necessary to remain competitive. One warehouse in eastern Germany will be closed and job losses incurred at six other sites.
