On February 21 and 22, the National Mango Board (NMB) is organizing the Foreign Mango Organizations (FMO) Workshop in Miami, United States. This event has the participation of the Mango Exporters Associations of Brazil, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Dominican Republic and more.
The main purpose of this meeting is to obtain an updated evaluation of the mango industry in each country, in addition to discussing research needs and establishing dates for future extension workshops. Ideas to improve crop reporting, such as projections and export volumes by variety and size, are also discussed. In addition, updates to the NMB Marketing Program and Research Program are carried out.
In addition, topics such as the Traceability System in the Mango Industry and crop projections are addressed. An evaluation of the projections is carried out, methodologies are presented and how to improve them is discussed.
The event also offers group activities, including a visit to Dr. Richard Campbell's experimental farm and the University of Florida Experiment Station.
