Grape exports have exceeded $900 million (Photo: andina.pe).
According to recent official data, table grapes remain the No. 1 agricultural product exported by Peru. In front of blueberries, avocados and asparagus.
Customs data indicates that the country exported 350,000 tonnes of table grapes in 2019. The value of these shipments exceeded $900 million. The main markets were the United States and the European Union.
The main producing regions are Ica with 165,000 tonnes, Piura with 137,000 tonnes, Lambayeque with 27,800 tonnes, La Libertad with 18,100 tonnes.
In the first 2 months of the year, Peruvian trade fell by 4.1%. The decrease reached 11.6% with China and 4.4% with the EU. On the contrary, an increase was recorded towards certain destinations such as South Korea (+ 11.5%), Canada (+ 20%), Australia (+ 92%) and Paraguay (+ 85%).
