Beginning of the marketing of Ribera oranges

With few days delay, the new marketing season of Ribera oranges DOP has just begun.

Beginning of the 2013-14 marketing season oranges of Ribera DOP (Denominazione di Origine Protetta). The quality is excellent, size is medium-large, due to optimum climatic conditions.In particular a high juice content was found, a good balance between sugar and acidity, a typical sweetness.

In addition to the Italian domestic market, Ribera oranges are exported to Europe. Germany is the first export customer especially with the orange organic of Ribera which has significantly increased its market share.

Orange Ribera recognized DOP since 2008, grown on 14 municipalities in the province of Agrigento, Sicily. Production usually begins in early November with the Navelina then continues from December until the end of May, with the Brasiliano varieties and Washington Navel.
