MACFRUT at the Italy/Iran Forum

An Italy / Iran forum was held recently in Tehran to assess the possibilities of cooperation in various economic sectors including agribusiness.

The following spring should involve the lifting of economic sanctions against Iran. The end of sanctions will lead to a considerable increase in exports to that country. About 3 billion euros until 2018 as planned. Iran is a major producer of Fruits & Vegetables (16 million tonnes) but needs to modernize the entire sector and that will generate strong demand for equipment and technology.

Present at the Forum, Renzo Piraccini, President of Cesena Fiera has had the opportunity to present Italian operators. He also noted that 12 Iranian operators had participated in the 2015 MACFRUT showing great interest in the various offerings on display.
