The Apple is a divisive issue
FJ
A media battle has just begun between the apples sector and the Greenpeace NGO.
After the publication by Greenpeace of a report questioning the health quality of the French apple, ANPP (National Association Apples Pears) has strongly denounced it.
For the ANPP, the report does not hesitate to draw conclusions between shocking analysis of soil and water (with a dark methodology) and the health quality of apples, sowing confusion and concern among consumers.
The ANPP has denounced the biased point by point argument (available on the Association's website) and sent GREENPEACE an invitation to visit an eco orchard for rapid update of their knowledge of agroecology.
ANPP represents about 65% of French production and 1,500 apple growers, of which almost all are included in the Charter of Quality Growers France "Vergers écoresponsable" (Vergers environmentally responsible).
