Russia: sales volumes of vegetables up 20%

In Volgograd region, more than 282.000 tonnes of vegetables were sold, up 49.000 tonnes compared to the same indices of 2007.
At the moment price level for vegetables is very low, reported representatives of the press-cutting service to IA REGNUM. The selling prices for cabbage are declared at 0.13 euro/kg, for onion - 0.10 euro/kg, for beet - 0.17 euro/kg, carrot - 0.23 euro/kg.
In general, all farms of the region supplied to consumers 45.740 tonnes of melons and gourds, 9.305 tonnes of potatoes, 16.693 tonnes of cabbage, 83.587 tonnes of tomatoes, 12.953 tonnes of onion, 2.735 tonnes of beet and 28.284 tonnes of carrot.
Apple harvesting is drawing to close in the farms of the regions. At the moment, 19.332 tonnes of apples were sold.
