This was the opinion of Valencia’s Agricultural councillor Maritina Hernández during the official presentation of Euroagro.Fruits 2008, which will take place on 16-18 April 2008. She highlighted that the event “has become the fair of reference in Spain for the fruit and vegetables industry” and this leadership “is certainly due to the strategic plan that the Organizing Committee of the event has launched, supporting important objectives such as innovation, internationalization, production, customization and training”.
Hernández stressed again the support of the Agricultural council to the exhibition, since “we see that it is evolving as meeting point for production, distribution and marketing chains. In fact, the top companies of the horticultural sector are choosing Euroagro.Fruits because it has become the best showcase in Spain of products, technology and services, as well as the best place to establish business relationships with companies around the world, to undertake a business and to discover the latest developments in the sector. In short, it is a great opportunity for profitable business outside our borders”.
On his side, Manuel García Portillo, president of the Executive Committee of Euroagro.Fruits, noted that “Euroagro.Fruits has been renewed almost in every aspect in order to achieve the objective of making a fair not only for Valencia, but for Spain”. According to García Portillo, this effort must be done with loyal support and generosity of the whole industry and for their own benefit, because “the customer wants a single point of contact, and we have to give it to him; we can’t split the offer in several fairs”.
On this big bet of the fair for the European distribution, García Portillo noted that “last year we saw a very important development, since the 75% of European distribution (and among them, the most important companies in Countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom or Italy) participated in Euroagro.Fruits. Now, what we have to do is to consolidate this position”.
