Promising outlook for melon season

The Murcia region is expecting a good season for melons - production should reach 220,000 tonnes.
The professional agriculture organisation Asaja Murcia has given a promising outlook for the melon season.
The season should be see high quality and be on time due to good weather. Melon production covers 6,000 hectares in the region of Murcia. The average annual production is 220,000 tons with Piel de Sapo the main variety marketed.
The main production areas are Cartagena and Guadalentín. Asaja Murcia plans a national and international campaign to promote it melons.
