The process is initiated for obtaining a collective mark.
The municipality of Techaluta , located in the south of the state of Jalisco , has more than 350 hectares of pitayas plantations. To better promote the production , draft collective mark "Pitaya de Techaluta " has just been filed with IMPI , the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property.
The deadline to complete the procedure is estimated at 6 months, just in time for next season. This new brand will help to better identify the product and to increase its sales and exports. In the US in particular.
